الولايات المتحدة تثمن الدور الحيوي الذي يضطلع به ملك المغرب في تعزيز السلام والأمن في الشرق الاوسط

قال المتحدث باسم الخارجية الأمريكية، في بلاغ صدر عقب المباحثات التي جرت الثلاثاء 1/10/2024 بواشنطن، بين وزير الشؤون الخارجية والتعاون الإفريقي والمغاربة المقيمين بالخارج، السيد ناصر بوريطة، ونظيره الأمريكي أنتوني بلينكن، إن الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية تثمن الدور الحيوي الذي يضطلع به الملك محمد السادس، ملك المغرب، في تعزيز السلام والأمن في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.

وأوضح البلاغ أن هذا الدور تجسده ريادة المغرب في الاستجابة للاحتياجات الإنسانية في غزة، ودعم إرساء الاستقرار في الضفة الغربية والمساهمة في إحياء دور السلطة الفلسطينية.

وأضاف البلاغ أن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي أشاد أيضا بـ”الجهود الحثيثة التي يبذلها المغرب لإنهاء الجمود السياسي في ليبيا ومعالجة انعدام الاستقرار في منطقة الساحل.

وفيما يتعلق بقضية الصحراء المغربية، جددت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية التأكيد على دعمها للمبادرة المغربية للحكم الذاتي، باعتبارها حلا "جادا وموثوقا وواقعيا" للنزاع الإقليمي حول الصحراء.

وأوضح المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، في نفس البلاغ أن "الولايات المتحدة ما زالت تعتبر مخطط الحكم الذاتي المغربي جادا وموثوقا وواقعيا".

من جانب آخر، أعرب الجانبان عن "دعمهما" للمبعوث الشخصي للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، ستافان دي ميستورا، في قيادة العملية السياسية المتعلقة بالصحراء، والتي تجري تحت إشراف الأمم المتحدة، من أجل التوصل، "دون أي تأخير"، إلى حل سياسي دائم لقضية الصحراء.

The United States Values the Vital Role of the King of Morocco in Promoting Peace and Security in the Middle East:

A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, in a statement released following discussions on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in Washington between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, said that the United States appreciates the vital role played by King Mohammed VI of Morocco in promoting peace and security in the Middle East.

The statement highlighted that this role is exemplified by Morocco's leadership in addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza, supporting the stabilization of the West Bank, and contributing to the revitalization of the Palestinian Authority's role.

The statement added that the U.S. Secretary of State also praised Morocco’s "relentless efforts" to end the political deadlock in Libya and address instability in the Sahel region.

Regarding the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, the United States reaffirmed its support for Morocco’s autonomy initiative, considering it a "serious, credible, and realistic" solution to the regional conflict over the Sahara.

The spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State further explained that "the United States continues to view Morocco’s autonomy plan as serious, credible, and realistic."

Additionally, both sides expressed their "support" for the personal envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General, Staffan de Mistura, in leading the political process concerning the Sahara, which is being conducted under the auspices of the United Nations, with the aim of reaching a lasting political solution to the Sahara issue "without delay."
