13 عالماً من جامعة نزوى ضمن قائمة ستانفورد لأفضل 2٪ من العلماء لعام 2024

حققت جامعة نزوى إنجازاً علمياً بارزاً بإدراج 13 من علمائها ضمن قائمة جامعة ستانفورد لأفضل 2٪ من العلماء على مستوى العالم لعام 2024م؛ ليضاف إلى رصيد الجامعة من الإنجازات الدولية والإقليمية في مجال البحوث والدراسات والاستشهاد العلمي.

وقال الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد بن سليمان الحراصي، نائب رئيس جامعة نزوى للدراسات العليا والبحث العلمي والعلاقات الخارجية وأحد العلماء المدرجة أسماؤهم ضمن القائمة: "تُعَدُّ هذه القائمة المرموقة إحدى أبرز التصنيفات العالمية التي تستند إلى معايير بحثية دقيقة، التي تشمل عدد المنشورات العلمية، ومدى تأثير الأبحاث، والاقتباسات التي تلقاها العلماء من مجتمعاتهم العلمية. كما يأتي هذا الإنجاز تتويجاً لجهود الجامعة المتواصلة في تعزيز البحث العلمي ودعم العلماء؛ مما يسهم في تعزيز مكانة جامعة نزوى على الساحة العالمية. كما يعكس تفوق الكفاءات الأكاديمية والبحثية في مختلف المجالات العلمية، ويؤكد التزام الجامعة بتطوير منظومة البحث العلمي والتعاون الدولي".

وأضاف الدكتور الحراصي: "إدراج 13 عالماً من جامعة نزوى في قائمة ستانفورد يمثل إنجازاً كبيراً نفخر به جميعاً، ويعد دليلاً على كفاءة وتفوق علمائنا وقدرتهم على المنافسة في المحافل العلمية العالمية، بل سنواصل العمل على تعزيز هذا النجاح ودعم البحث العلمي لتطوير الابتكار والإسهام في إنتاج المعرفة بما يحقق أهداف الجامعة وسلطنة عمان في تحقيق أهدافها المرتبطة باقتصاد المعرفة والتنمية المستدامة".

وعبر الدكتور عبدالله الحاتمي، أستاذ مساعد ومسؤول مختبر الأحياء الدقيقة، وأحد العلماء المدرجين في القائمة، عن فخره واعتزازه بإدراجه ضمن القائمة، وقال: " التكريم ثمرة سنوات طويلة من العمل والبحث العلمي الدؤوب، إذ يُعد إدراجنا ضمن قائمة أفضل العلماء في العالم بمثابة مسؤولية إضافية لمواصلة العطاء والإسهامفي تعزيز سمعة الجامعة والأبحاث العلمية على المستوى الدولي".

الجدير بالذكر أن جامعة نزوى تصدرت مؤسسات التعليم العالي الوطنية في مؤشر الطبيعة Nature Index  الذي يصنف المؤسسات البحثية حسب منشوراتها في المجلات العالمية المرموقة،وهو ما يعزز مكانة الجامعة مركزا إقليميا للبحث العلمي والابتكار.

وبفضل الكفاءات العالية التي يتمتع بها أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثون، والبنية التحتية المتينة للبحث العلمي والابتكار، تنهض جامعة نزوى بدورها الحيوي مركزا إقليميا للبحث العلمي والابتكار، فقد بلغ إجمالي منشورات أعضاء هيئة التدريس في المجلات العالمية (469) بحثاً علمياً عام 2022/2023 ليصل العدد الكلي منذ عام 2009 إلى (2890) بحثاً، وقام أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة نزوى بتأليف (53) كتاباً وفصول كتب

13 Scholars from Nizwa University Included in Stanford’s List of Top 2% Scientists for 2024

Nizwa University has achieved a remarkable scientific milestone by having 13 of its scholars included in Stanford University's list of the top 2% of scientists worldwide for 2024. This achievement adds to the university's track record of international and regional accomplishments in the fields of research, studies, and scholarly citations.

Professor Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Harrasi, Vice President of Nizwa University for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research, and External Relations, and one of the scientists named on the list, said, "This prestigious list is one of the most prominent global rankings, based on precise research criteria, including the number of scientific publications, the impact of the research, and the citations received from the scientific community. This achievement crowns the university's continuous efforts to promote scientific research and support its scholars, contributing to Nizwa University's growing global reputation. It reflects the excellence of academic and research talent across various scientific fields and reaffirms the university’s commitment to developing a robust research system and fostering international collaboration."

Dr. Al-Harrasi added, "The inclusion of 13 scholars from Nizwa University in Stanford’s list is a significant achievement we are all proud of. It is a testament to the competence and excellence of our scholars, demonstrating their ability to compete in global scientific forums. Dr. Abdullah Al-Hatmi, Assistant Professor and Microbiology Laboratory Director, and one of the scholars included on the list, expressed his pride in being named, stating, "This recognition is the result of many years of hard work and dedicated scientific research. Being listed among the world’s top scientists is an added responsibility to continue contributing to the university’s reputation and the advancement of scientific research on an international level."

It is noteworthy that Nizwa University has topped national higher education institutions in the Nature Index, which ranks research institutions based on their publications in prestigious international journals, further solidifying the university’s status as a regional hub for scientific research and innovation.

With the high caliber of its faculty and researchers, alongside a strong infrastructure for scientific research and innovation, Nizwa University plays a vital role as a regional center for scientific research and innovation. The total number of faculty publications in international journals reached 469 research papers in 2022/2023, bringing the total since 2009 to 2,890 papers.
